Guest Review & Blog of 10 Night Luxury Wildlife Package

GUEST REVIEW & BLOG:  SAIL NINGALOO 10 NIGHT TRIP

Glenn & Helen travelled with Sail Ningaloo in May, 2026. They booked Sail Ningaloo’s Luxury Wildlife Package and upgraded to 5-nights on board Shore Thing.

Our 10 day trip organised by Sail Ningaloo included a 3 day stay at Sal Salis resort, Swimming with Whale Sharks on the boat Wave Rider, a scenic flight from Exmouth to Coral Bay and 5 nights living on the catamaran Shore Thing, snorkelling on Ningaloo reef.  Transfers between all locations and airports were included.

From the time Hayley picked us up from Learmonth Airport to dropping us back 10 days later, everything ran very smoothly and there was little we had to do for ourselves.

Sal Salis resort was very restful, and we went snorkelling straight off the beach on the afternoon we arrived.  The staff all went out of their way to do anything they could for us. We took up all the activities on offer – guided snorkelling from various beaches and also a guided hike at dawn, where we saw a number of rock wallabies.  The guides were knowledgeable on both the marine and the local wildlife.  Meals were excellent and a highlight of the stay.  The location is truly remote and the sunsets and evening skies were marvellous.

The day trip swimming with whale sharks was very professionally run, including a very competent and knowledgeable in-water swimming/snorkelling guide.  Conditions were favourable and we got to have extended swims with 3 whale sharks.

Taking the scenic flight to Coral Bay provided a new perspective, with our pilot giving good information on what could be seen from the air, including sighting a large whale shark near the reef and manta rays close to the beach near Coral Bay.

A focus of the trip was spending 5 nights aboard the catamaran Shore Thing. The crew of three worked really well together to make our trip special, looking after us from breakfast ‘til bedtime.  All three had Divemaster qualifications.

Dom the skipper had a detailed knowledge of navigating the waters of the reef and it was no surprise that he had extensive and varied sailing experience.

Sandra, our snorkel and scuba diving guide, had a great ability to find and identify the innumerable species of sea life.  At the end of the trip were given a terrific video she had edited of the corals, octopi, turtles, reef sharks and colourful reef fish we had seen.  Throughout, she went to some lengths to make sure that those who were not very experienced snorkellers or good swimmers still got to see the underwater highlights.

Josh produced quite remarkable high quality restaurant quality meals from the small galley, with his very creative chef’s touch.  He also served as dive master or snorkel guide at times, working in with Sandra.

Overall, we had a very special time and couldn’t have wished for a better organised trip or a more interesting and engaging crew.
