5 Night Ningaloo Escape – 25th August 2023
Our 25th August 5-night journey embarked, with many of our usual friends joining us.
Trevally and buffalo bream moved in harmonious unison. Graceful, serene turtles, their movements echoing the gentle rhythms of the ocean. Marble rays glided through the crystal-clear waters, and convict surgeonfish, with their vibrant yellow and black stripes, brought a burst of colour to the underwater world, like busy bees. The symbiotic relationships at Asho’s of the majestic sharks and small cleaner wrasse left us exhilarated.
Ningaloo had more in store than just its underwater wonders. Its legendary orange sunsets painted the sky, which we enjoyed from the sandy peaks of the dunes, a moment to pause and soak in the beauty of nature.
We explored the secrets of shipwrecks, visualizing history beneath the waves. Sailed the ever colour changing sand flats and were presented with so so many amazing highlights to choose from. Not 1 but 2 eagle rays graced us with their presence, alongside also not 1 but 2 leopard sharks. Wobbegongs, usually shy and hidden, ventured into the open swimming in the shallows. And, oh, the mantas – so many that they almost became a part of our journey’s heartbeat.
Make sure you watch until the end to see the epic acrobatics we were treated to, a reminder that the ocean’s wonders know no bounds.
